Private, browser-based PDF page extraction
This splitter reads and rebuilds the PDF with client-side JavaScript. Your PDF bytes are not sent to Starlight Tools or a document-processing service. Normal website analytics and advertising may still load with the page, subject to your consent choices, but this tool does not include file names, page selections, or document contents in analytics events.
Splitting is useful for separating scanned receipts, distributing individual certificates, extracting form pages, saving one-page records, or breaking a large document into easier-to-share parts.
Page ranges, file names, and output limits
Custom ranges are inclusive. For example, 1-3, 7, 10-12 extracts pages 1, 2, 3, 7, 10, 11, and 12. Repeated page numbers are included only once, and output files are sorted in source-page order.
The page number is padded to at least three digits so files stay in order when sorted by name. The tool accepts files up to 500 MB and creates at most 500 separate PDFs per operation. Large scanned documents can still exceed the available memory of a phone or browser, so use a smaller page selection or a desktop device if processing stops.
Important PDF limitations
Page artwork is copied without intentional rasterization, but every output is a rebuilt document. Digital signatures become invalid, and document-level bookmarks, metadata, attachments, forms, accessibility tags, links, scripts, or portfolio features may change or be lost. Keep the original PDF and check the extracted files before relying on them.

Are my PDF files uploaded?
No. The PDF is read and split by JavaScript on your device. Starlight Tools does not receive, store, or inspect the document.
Can I split every page into a separate PDF?
Yes. Choose All pages and the tool creates one PDF file for every page in the source document.
Can I extract only certain pages?
Yes. Choose Custom range and enter pages such as 1, 3-5, 9. You can also select only odd or only even pages.
Does splitting reduce PDF quality?
The tool copies each selected PDF page without intentionally rasterizing or recompressing its artwork, so normal page quality is preserved.
Why are the files supplied in a ZIP?
A ZIP archive lets you save many separate page PDFs with one download and avoids browser restrictions on multiple automatic downloads. Individual file links are also provided.
Can I split a password-protected PDF?
Encrypted or password-protected PDFs are not supported. Open an authorized unlocked copy and try again.
Is there a PDF size or page limit?
Files up to 500 MB can be loaded and up to 500 pages can be created in one split operation. Practical limits may be lower on devices with less available memory.
What happens to signatures, bookmarks, forms, and metadata?
Splitting rebuilds each output PDF, so digital signatures become invalid and bookmarks, metadata, attachments, forms, accessibility tags, links, or scripts may change or be lost. Keep the original file.
