Which layout should I choose?

- Academic year: a 12-month August-to-July view for schools and study plans.
- Custom: any consecutive 1–36-month range, grouped onto pages as you choose.
How paper settings change the result
A4 measures 210 × 297 mm, US Letter 8.5 × 11 inches, and Tabloid 11 × 17 inches. Portrait favors tall single-month pages; landscape gives wider day cells. Narrow margins increase usable space, while 4–12 months per page creates an overview with less writing room.

Calendar rules: ISO weeks and leap years
ISO 8601 weeks begin on Monday. Week 1 is the week containing the year’s first Thursday. This means a few early-January dates may belong to the previous ISO week-year, and late-December dates may belong to the next one.

The Gregorian leap-year rule adds 29 February when a year is divisible by 4, except century years must also be divisible by 400. Therefore 2024 and 2000 are leap years, while 2100 is not.
Privacy, holiday data, and verification
Your settings and events are processed only in this browser. Nothing is uploaded. Events persist beyond the session only when you explicitly enable local-only persistence, and you can clear them at any time.
Holiday overlays use transparent, rule-based common national dates maintained by Starlight Robotics, with regional variations where provided. Sources reviewed include GOV.UK bank holidays, the US Office of Personnel Management, Canada.ca public holidays, and the Australian Fair Work Ombudsman. Rules are reviewed annually and when official calendars change; one-off proclamations and local observances should be confirmed with the relevant authority.
Tested and verified by Starlight Robotics · last reviewed 18 July 2026. Calendar math and responsive rendering were tested in Google Chrome 150 on Linux. A4, US Letter, and Tabloid PDFs were parsed in portrait and landscape with Poppler 24.02; representative one-page and three-page outputs, ISO year boundaries, leap years, holidays, and custom events were checked. Current Firefox and Safari are compatibility targets based on the standards used, but printer drivers can still vary.

Can I download the calendar directly as a PDF?
Yes. Download PDF creates a real PDF in your browser with the selected paper size, orientation, margins and page grouping. It has no watermark and needs no account.
Should I use landscape or portrait?
Portrait suits a single monthly planner and large-print layouts. Landscape gives wider day cells and works well for weekly, family and multi-month calendars.
What are the exact A4 and US Letter dimensions?
A4 is 210 × 297 mm (8.27 × 11.69 in). US Letter is 8.5 × 11 in (215.9 × 279.4 mm). Tabloid is 11 × 17 in (279.4 × 431.8 mm).
How many PDF pages will my calendar use?
The live download summary shows the exact page count. Monthly collections use the number of months divided by your 1, 2, 4, 6 or 12 months-per-page setting, rounded up; weekly layouts use one page.
Can I add holidays and personal events?
Yes. Choose a supported country and region for common public holidays, or choose Blank calendar. Add personal events with the event form or type directly into a day cell.
Why are background colors missing when I print?
Enable background graphics in your browser print settings. Direct PDF downloads preserve the selected theme, weekend highlighting and event colors without that browser setting.
Can weeks start on Monday or Sunday?
Yes. Choose Monday or Sunday. ISO week numbering still follows ISO 8601: weeks begin Monday and week 1 contains the year’s first Thursday.

Is there a large-print calendar mode?
Yes. Select the Large print template or Roomy density. For the largest writing areas, use one month per page in portrait orientation.

Yes. Essential controls and download actions are touch-friendly, advanced options collapse, and the preview can be zoomed. Mobile PDF handling depends on the browser’s download or share controls.
What years are supported?
The generator supports Gregorian calendar years from 1 through 9999. Public-holiday rules are intended for modern planning years and should be checked against official local announcements.
Do downloads contain a watermark?
No. The calendar PDF has no watermark.
Do I need an account?
No. The generator and PDF download are free and require no sign-in or account.
Where are my events stored?
Events stay in this browser. They are kept only for the current session unless you explicitly enable local-only persistence, which uses this browser’s local storage.
What should I do if preview or download does not work?
