How to use the calculator

  1. Choose whether to calculate pace, finish time, distance, or convert pace and speed.
  2. Select units and enter the requested values. Time has separate mobile-friendly hour, minute and second controls.
  3. Read the automatic result in both metric and imperial units. Use the split planner for kilometre, mile, 400 m or custom intervals.

Pace versus speed: pace is time per distance; speed is distance per hour. Treadmills normally display speed, so the converter is useful when a plan gives pace. Choose min/km for metric races and min/mile for mile-based training. Predictions assume one constant average pace; terrain, conditions, stops and fatigue can make real performance differ.
