The best wallpaper size is the display’s native pixel resolution. Presets are convenient starting points, but device families change; the aspect-ratio principles below remain useful.

An aspect ratio compares width with height. When one pixel dimension is known:
height = width × ratio height ÷ ratio width
width = height × ratio width ÷ ratio height
16:9 example: 1920 × 9 ÷ 16 = 1080, producing 1920×1080.
20:9 phone example: 2400 × 9 ÷ 20 = 1080, so portrait dimensions are 1080×2400.
Cropping removes edge content to change composition. Resizing changes pixel dimensions. Downscaling reduces pixels and usually stays sharp; upscaling creates more pixels by interpolation but cannot create genuine source detail. Fit modes preserve the image’s proportions, so stretching is avoided.
On Windows, open Settings > System > Display and read Display resolution. On macOS, open System Settings > Displays. On iPhone, iPad, or Android, check the manufacturer's specifications for your exact model. Use the native pixel resolution when it is available.
Choose Fit Entire Image. Empty space is kept around the photo; choose Blurred Background or Solid Background if you want that space filled. The tool never stretches the photo because stretching distorts faces, text, and shapes.
The operating system may apply perspective, parallax, scrolling, or a Fill setting after download. Disable motion or perspective effects where available and choose Fit rather than Fill in the device's wallpaper settings.

A small source cannot gain genuine detail when enlarged. Check the scale warning beside each crop: a value above 1× means upscaling. Choose a smaller output, use a larger original, or avoid extra zoom.
They usually use the same screen pixels, but their clocks, widgets, docks, notches, and scrolling behavior differ. Use the phone lock-screen or home-screen guide to keep the subject clear of likely interface areas.
For one image spanning equal monitors, add a custom output whose width is the sum of their horizontal resolutions and whose height is one monitor's height. Mixed resolutions or operating-system scaling may need separate wallpapers for predictable alignment.
Portrait and landscape need different crops. Select both tablet orientations, adjust each preview independently, and export both. The device may crop again if it uses one image for both orientations.
