What’s Being Calculated?
- Home energy: Electricity kWh × grid kg/kWh; gas kWh × gas kg/kWh (optional methane uplift); heating oil and LPG via simple factors. If bills are household totals, divide by household size.
- Travel: Car distance × consumption × fuel/grid factor ÷ occupants; flights via passenger-km factors (optional radiative forcing %); optional rail/bus passenger-km.
- Diet: Average daily kg CO₂e × days/year (choose a preset and adjust).
- Consumption: Annual spend × intensity (kg CO₂e per currency). A coarse proxy—tune to your source.
Limitations
- Awareness-level estimator, not an audit. Supply chains and local factors vary widely.
- Flight non-CO₂ effects are uncertain; the uplift % is optional and editable.
